Ever since I was a little girl playing house, I’ve dreamed of being a mom. Now, at 41, after a lot of soul-searching, I’ve decided to pursue that dream on my own. I know I can be a great single mother—I was raised by one. I’ve spent years in therapy healing from past traumas and breaking cycles so I can offer my child the loving, stable home I’ve always wanted. My journey hasn’t been easy. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and I had to leave my teaching career due to disability. There were moments I worried my dream of motherhood might slip away. But my hope never faded. I’ve dedicated my life to caring for children, working in early education and as a nanny. I know the challenges of raising a child on my own, but I also know my own strength. I’m a fighter, and I have so much love to give. The one hurdle I can’t overcome alone is the cost of IVF. After consulting closely with my doctors at CNY, we believe this is my best path to pregnancy.  I don’t have a partner and have a hormone imbalance that’s I’ll need medication.
